Good luck with your decision.After our first conference, we got back to the editing station with six 64GB SD cards full of video/audio coverage and began editing. I would suggest however, that for serious production for people who don't want to fight with the technology, it provides superior overall value. Well worth the investment but with cost in the $30K range, its out of reach for many. The full system with all the video, audio, and graphics features is the Graphite. The Carbonite solo is a great unit but does not have the internal recording/streaming/motion graphics capabilities which you would get from other sources. Of course, there are degrees here as well. You will pay more but once you are using a Carbonite switcher, you'll not regret having spent the extra money. My suggestion would be to also take a good look at Ross. Blackmagic has been quite well covered as well.

We built a beefy vMix computer for ~$3600 with all the fixings (3070, ThreadRipper 3960x, 128GB RAM, 6 TBs of storage, BeQuiet! Dark Base Pro 900 case, BlackMagic DeckLink Duo2, etc) and it has worked flawlessly for all of our productions. One of the repairs was a motherboard replacement + hard drive and it cost over $3500.
Not to mention the repairs cost anywhere from $3000-$6000. Because of covid, we didn't get them back for 2-3 months. 3/6 of them have gone back to NewTek in Texas in the past year for repairs. My company is transitioning away from Tricaster TC-1's which we have 6 of. Thanks in advance for any of your expertise. We could also consider cutting the camera/source inputs down to a couple if a piece of gear really makes sense otherwise. Do any of you have any suggestions? Would be awesome if the alternatives are a little cheaper than a new Tricaster Mini ($8000). We need the ability to live stream our broadcasts while also archiving at least at 1080p/60 at a great bitrate (another shortcoming of the old Tricaster Mini). We use three cameras, tons of B roll/motion graphics, and at least one Network input. We've finally reached the point where we want a new piece of gear. Our latest problem is random audio pops and audio distortion in the archives. Installing new firmware is always a circus and we often have to create new sessions to get it to work properly because they eventually get corrupted.
